Title: Technology as a Change Agent for English Language Learning
About 25 years ago the first microcomputers began appearing in classrooms. Today, fast communication networks coupled with a vast array of digital devices are changing the landscape of how we communicate and share information. Proficiency with using these tools is now considered a basic literacy skill. What impact does this rapid change and this new literacy requirement have on the way we do business as educators?
What new technologies are emerging today and what might the future of educational technology look like in 10 or 15 years? And what should English language instructors do to ensure their schools and learners are equipped for a digital world?
This presentation will offer information about trends with technology and an insight into how those technologies spur change. Information will be offered about what you need to know and what you need to do in order to connect this technological change to the educational programs you offer.
